There are a few new considerations for sanctioning a USMS event as of January 2016. The following fees were voted upon at the Fall 2015 convention during the House of Delegates meeting. For more details, go to the USMS Sanctions page .

The USMS House of Delegates established sanction fees as follows:

  1. 1) $50 for each non-National Championship sanctioned pool event,
  2. 2) $100 for each non-National Championship open water sanctioned event,
  3. 3) A $5 per participant fee for all sanctioned open water events, and sanctioned pool National Championships
  4. 4) With a maximum of $1000 for OW events

These fees will be billed to the LMSC by USMS once the sanction has been approved. National Sanction Fee for Recognized Events to have a $0 fee. When including your meet forms on the sanction application be sure to include the complete liability waiver (available below). This form needs to be signed by all swimmers participating in the meet. Be sure to return all waiver paperwork that swimmers sign to the Sanctions chair within two weeks of the event.
