As you know, last month we changed the date of the Montana State Championships from March to April, and the location from Butte to Missoula. We thought the change to local (for the meet directors) rather than at a distance and a new date (not spring break) would facilitate getting officials, computer and electronic timing operators, a venue and caterer for the social, etc. It didn’t. Several members of the Big Sky Montana Masters and one member of the Missoula Masters traveled to Coeur D’Alene, ID this weekend to compete in the Kroc Masters February Flurry. Wendy McNamara lowered three of her Montana records in the 60-64 age group at the meet and a new name in our record books, Louise Albershardt, broke four Montana records in the 55-59 age group.

Charlotte Sanddal traveled to St. George, Utah last month for the Huntsman World Senior Games. In addition to setting several Montana LMSC records at the meet (see latest SCM update), she also set a USMS national record and a FINA world record for women 95-99 in the 200 meter individual medley (short-course) with a time of 9:32.59. The national record has been confirmed. The world record won’t be updated until 60 days after the swim. Congratulations, Charlotte!
