Montana Master’s Swimming Record Holder and Six-decade Champion of Montana Swimming – Bob McKinnon – Has Died

Robert Scott “Bob” McKinnon, a Montana Master’s Swimming record holder, former top-ten ranked Master’s Nationals swimmer, former championship high school and club coach, and six-decade swim instructor, died of esophageal cancer on July 7th.  McKinnon, who grew up in Oakland and swam for his father Gus, a UC Berkely assistant swim coach and YMCA club coach, was a high school YMCA All-American who brought California-style competitive swimming to Montana when he was awarded a full-ride scholarship to the University of…

At the end of October, the Montana LMSC approved a Story Sharing Campaign for the month of November. One story will be published online and distributed via email each week. A couple survey responses suggested the LMSC to promote positive stories about its members. 2021 Membership Renewal

2021 Membership Renewal

On Sunday, October 25, the MT LMSC voted to offer a benefit program to acknowledge renewing members’ loyalty. People who renew their membership between November 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021 can direct the LMSC to do one of the following with the $12 LMSC fee that is part of their USMS registration. Receive a rebate check from the LMSC for $12. Send the member’s $12 rebate to any swimming club or workout group in Montana that is registered with…

USMS Launches Modified Year-Plus Membership

USMS says… Over the past month, the USMS Board of Directors has been discussing how best to adjust to the ongoing challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting pool closures, and decided to move forward with the Modified Year-Plus membership. This promotional offer is one piece of the board’s overall strategy.
